Hip Hop Workshops

The community service aspect of my project has been to reach out to the kids in the community who love to dance, but don’t have the opportunity to take classes and/or showcase their talent in performances. I have been teaching free hip hop workshops for kids in the Chicagoland area (Boocoo & the YMCA), and am currently working with 3 middle school girls from the YMCA After-School Youth Program on a piece for my show. These talented individuals have great energy and potential, but funding cuts from arts programs in elementary and middle schools in the past years have limited the availability of artistic opportunities for them.
